Let’s read in Blackletters is a research project about the complex world of Blackletters from the Middle Ages
to the graphic environment of today.
In it, I explore Blackletters’ various faces, significations and origins.
I also study the characteristics of
a legible font, and classify positive and negative aspects of Blackletters concerning legibility. This historical research helped me discover how Blackletters can bring something very special and original to a typography, and prepared me for the creation
of the fontAudelet.
